Why can't I pre-buy tickets to a movie?

I want to see the movie Something Borrowed on May 6, the opening day, but on all AMC websites it says there are no movie times on May 6. I want to pre-buy the tickets, but I find it weird that the website shows no times, therefore I can't buy the tickets. I live near Minneapolis. Could there really be no show times on opening day?
