Shouldn't we teach our children that a gun is only a tool, and should be tought it's proper usage in schools?

Believe it or not, I was taught how to use a gun in school and we fired them in school. We were taught to have a healthy respect for weapons and a responsibility when using them. I was in the 8th grade in Missouri and I am very grateful to my teacher.
