What recourse do I have for mold growing in my apartment?

I have submitted a complaint in writing to the office staff. They haven't fixed an existing issue (moisture coming through the window/wall separating the plaster from the drywall) which allowed mold to grow around the window, it is now coming through the wall/baseboard of the master bedroom as well. I have heard that in FL if you submit a request in writing for repair and it isn't fixed in 7days you are released from the terms of your lease...is this true? Does the presence of mold nullify the lease altogether? What recourse do I have? Can I withhold my monthly rent payment until this is fixed?
