Advice for my protean hydra deck?

i have protean hydra as well only i run him with elves and i managed to get him up to 500 attack because of them in one duel(mostly cuz i was facing a rookie who didnt know what he was doing and didnt bother trying to kill my elves) and i won because of it by giving him trample. now if i were u i would stick canopy cover in ur main deck and equip it to him as soon as u get him ou cuz if u goes against black deck that thing will die if u dont but it also might dies the moment it comes out.
