Does this happen often with baby boys?

WHAT! I have never heard of such a thing! Don't worry about that! My son had colic and didn't get a hernia.Your best source of information would be you DOCTOR :) good luck with your MIL bless her heart, She just wants whats best for her grandbabies I'm sure. LOL
