With another Knife attack in London, this time on a policeman, is it time to reconsider the death penalty?

These thugs go out armed with knives intending to use them with little or no fear of the consequences and no thought whatsoever for the victims or their families. Would these people, if they were hung, really be a loss to Society in any way?
