Anyone get a Deep cough while visiting San Francisco?

Twice in the last couple of months I've experienced a Deep cough while walking the streets of San Francisco (Embarcadero & Fisherman's warf). I thought I was sick, but a guy I was with had the same problem. Once I got indoors I was fine. Anyone else?
